That's National/Global Poetry Writing Month.

These are rules I'm setting for myself for my engagement in the poem-a-day challenge this April. They are not rules for anyone else and they probably don't make any sense because it's 4:30pm on a Wednesday.

Rules for NaGloPoWriMo

  1. Write every day.

  2. Write, don't edit.

  3. Poems do not need to be finished.

  4. Poems do need to be published.

  5. Poems can be about anything.

  6. Don't force it.

  7. Do not write with the intention of publishing anywhere but here (See rule 4).

  8. A haiku counts.

  9. If you don't know what to write about, change something (clothes, surroundings, sensory input, activity etc.).

  10. Write about what you respond to.
